James Scott Pickren

1957-2016
James Scott Pickren, 58, passed away on Thursday, June 2nd in Henderson, NV of natural causes. A resident of southern Nevada since 1982, he was born on September 5th in Rexburg, Idaho to Howard Joseph Pickren and JoAnne Horkley Pickren.  
Scott grew up in Midvale, Utah and enjoyed hunting and riding his horse Billy around Midvale Meat Packing, the family business. He became an Eagle Scout and graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1975.  He earned his degree from the College of Pharmacy at The University of Utah in 1981 where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Shorty after graduation and moving to Las Vegas, he began working at Sunrise Hospital and worked there for over 25 years. He eventually earned his PharmD from The University of Florida in 2002. Later he worked at Spring Valley Hospital as Director of Pharmacy until 2015. 
He will be laid to rest on Monday, June 27th at Lake Hills Memorial in Sandy, Utah. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. with viewing one hour prior to service. He will buried next to his grandfather. 
He is survived by his wife Nancy (Wylie); mother JoAnne; sister Jerri Pickren Betts; stepson Garrett Smith; son Nathaniel; daughter Jenna; the mother of his children from second marriage (1992) Gail Morin Pickren; former spouse from first marriage (1983) Cindy Frame Perry; and former stepson Andrew Frame.  His father preceded him in death. He will also be missed by his dog Zasha and cat Bootsy.  The two pets will keep family members comforted during these difficult times.  
In the passed year, Scott was finally able to get the Harley trike that he wanted and immensely enjoyed riding it.  Rest in Peace.
