James Oscar Skaggs

James Oscar Skaggs, age 59, passed away on February 10, 2016 in Salt Lake City, Utah.  He was born on February 24, 1956 to William A. and Betty Norine Skaggs.  He married Maria Larrinaga and they later divorced.  James had a love for fishing, camping, hunting, mining, and spending time with friends and family.  He participated in many various charity events and loved working for Big Brothers and Big Sisters.  James received several letters from former US Presidents George Bush Sr. and Bill Clinton for his work at various Presidential speeches where James worked closely with the Secret Service.  James is survived by his son James (Alise) Skaggs, Patricia Hopkins, Teri and Charles Elegante, many nieces and nephews, special friends Steve and Annette, and members of his Murray Ward, and former wife Maria Larrinaga.  He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Michelle Sprouse.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, 11:00 AM with a viewing two hours prior to services, at Memorial Redwood 6500 South, West Jordan.
