James Oliver Kramer

December 10, 1965 — September 25, 2019

James Oliver Kramer born December 10, 1965 in Helena, MT. to Carroll Kramer and
Jennie Jasper Kramer. He was raised in Boulder Mt. where his true love for the mountains
began. James never went by James, everyone knows him as Jim or if he was at work it would
be JK. He later moved to Salt Lake City, UT. where he met the love of his love, Sheila Kay
Lundgren. They were married on January 11, 1992 then later sealed for time and all eternity on
September 3, 1994. He was fiercely protective and loving. Jim and Sheila had 3 children Tayler
Ellyse, Carley Michelle, Brandon Torsten, and two more, our labs Ebony and Titan. He was
survived by 3 sisters LeeAnn Thompson, Robin and James Jensen, and by his twin sister Janet
and Tom Cunningham. He was older by 2 ½ minutes and another son Christopher James.
Preceded in death by his parents and older brother Pete as well as his much beloved chocolate
lab Snickers.
Jim worked for Wagstaff Crane for the past 24 years this month. He was an amazing
operator and a mentor to many of the guys he worked with. He was one who always stood by
this principle. Which was, the job is not done until he was done and he never was. If you needed
anything he was the top guy to go to always saying yes and willing to serve everyone that was
around him.
He was a wonderful husband, friend and father. He loved his kids with a powerful
protective emotion. To his kids he was a protector, jokester, cheerleader, confidant, friend and
most of all a killer dad. The core values he would want his kids to have and be apart of their
lives are to be kind to all, work hard and then work even harder, be honest and trustworthy and
most of all to love unconditionally. His children will always remember his signature terms of
endearment like, “Don’t forget your big guy loves you!”, “Whats up half-pint?” and when they
particularly weren’t in the mood to work like he does he would say “I’ll give you some giddyup!”
and many many more.
He was intimidating to many who met him because of his size, but soon realized he was
just a big teddy bear. Jim was the type of guy who became your friend as soon as he said hello.
His light and charisma were contagious and you always left his home feeling happy.
His signature look was a baseball hat (a broncos hat in particular), with racoon eyes
because of always wearing sunglasses when he worked. Jim was a MORNING PERSON,
6:30am was sleeping in for him and if he had to be to work at 6:00am then he would be at the
gym at 4:00am. His health and build was very important to him, the gym was his outlet to
decompress and release any stress he was feeling. He also is that guy at the gym that everyone
knows and wants to say hi to. He may have been such a morning person but don’t be mistaken
that man can nap. Even though being healthy was important to him he was a connoisseur of
baked goods, but not just any treats he particularly enjoyed his wife’s chocolate chip cookies,
peanut butter cookies (these were a part of his hunting trip traditions) and all things cake.
He had such a passion for the outdoors, whether it be hunting, ice fishing, fishing,
camping, or just going on a drive. He preferred to be outside. Whenever he traveled he always
wanted to get out on a boat and fish, he could spend his whole day fishing. From a very young
age he taught all his kids to have a love for the outdoors. Now if he wasn’t outside he would be
watch sports between football, softball and basketball he loved the games. He also loved to
watch all crime and cop shows his favorite was Blue Bloods and also enjoyed Dr. Pol because
he loved animals.
Between his family, friends and coworkers he was loved by all and will be truly missed.
He made an impact on everyone’s life, he will forever be a legend.
