James Moore

July 6, 1937 — January 17, 2015

Our loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away on January 17, 2015 after a battle with Kidney Disease. He was born on July 6, 1937 in Huntington, Utah to Vernon and Estrella Moore. James served in the West German mission from 1957-1960. He attended the University of Utah, where he met Marcia Donkin. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple in 1967. His greatest joy was his family.
James served 21 years in the military including Deseret Storm. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and provided countless hours of service to the widowed and single sisters in his ward. He volunteered at Jordan Valley Medical Center and also served as a temple worker for many years.
He is survived by his wife Marcia, brother Richard (Verna), children James (Susan), Marcianne (David) Robinson, Theresa (Phil) Davis, Michelle (Matthew) Holcom, Elizabeth (Nathan) Martinez, Marilyn (David) Anderson, 21 grandchildren, and many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marilyn Rice.
There will be a viewing at the Hunter 17th Ward, 3745 S. 6400 W., West Valley City on Thursday, January 22, 2015 from 7:00-9:00 P .M. The funeral service will be held Friday January 23, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Hunter 17th Ward with a viewing one hour prior. Interment will be at the Mountain View Memorial Estates Cemetery, 3115 E. 7800 So., Cottonwood Heights.
