James M Williams, son of Rondo James Williams and Mildred Montague, was born in Provo, Utah on May 12, 1943. He died on June 4, 2021 after a long battle with Kidney Disease. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Joan Benroth Williams. He will be remembered by is six children: Christina (Chet) Petty, Stephanie (Rob) Harper, Melissa Williams, Jennifer (Frank) Mills, James Michael (Maggie) Williams, and Angela Williams Whitfield. His four stepchildren: Brent (Becky) Benroth, Ryan (Melissa) Benroth, Eric (Amy) Benroth, and Kristy (Kyle) Benroth Drummond. He had 21 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren at the time of his death.
Jim, as he was known, went to the Southern States Mission, mainly Georgia on a mission for the Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, He worked as an electrician, millwright, in the mailroom at BYU and ended his career in the mailroom at Novell.
Jim was well known for his sense of humor and love of people. He had a hobby of woodworking, gifting many items to those in his life. The family would like to thank West Valley Dialysis, Tooele Dialysis, Rocky Mountain Care, and Tooele Aging services for their help in his final months.
His services will be held on June 9th at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery. The viewing will start at 9:00am and the funeral will be at 10:00am. 6500 S Redwood Road, Taylorsville, UT 84123. A luncheon will be held for the family after the funeral at the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 5065 West Janette (3965 South) West Valley City. Everyone who knew Jim are welcome to attend.
