James (Jim) Edward Pangos

September 18, 1935 — July 6, 2018

Jim passed away on July 6, 2018 in Sandy, Utah. He was born September 18, 1935, to Angelo Gus and Iona Lucille Maynard Pangos. He graduated from Jordan High School in 1953, after which he joined the US Navy and served from April, 1953 to July, 1956. He married Ernestine Carol Kroescher on April 2, 1956. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on August 15, 1972.
Jim worked multiple jobs, including being a boiler maker for Kennecott Copper and an Insurance Agent for Farmers. He was greatly appreciated by many of his insurance customers. During that time, he also had a unique talent for doing beautiful stone work. He retired from both jobs after 30 years, which allowed him to spend time with his family doing what he loved: camping and fishing. He worked very hard to provide for his family and took great pride in teaching his 6 children to do the same.
He always looked forward to being the Priesthood representative at girls camp and serving his church in any capacity he could.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carol, 6 children: Karen Conner, Bret Pangos (Sally), Becky Skola (Kell), Lisa Christiansen (Ron), Jimmy Pangos (Stephanie), and Gaven Pangos. He is also survived by his brother, Gilbert (Merle), and sister Angie. He has numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Corie Marie Skola, great grandsons, Evan Max Brown and Titan Brown.
