James Jay Allen

James passed away peacefully at home on April 24, 2018. He was born in Lacrosse, Kansas on August 20, 1924 to James M. Allen and Faye E. Robinson. He attended Kansas State College and served in the United States Army during WWII in the Philippines. After receiving an honorable discharge, he worked at the Rocky Mountain arsenal in Rifle, Colorado. Then he worked at the U.S. Bureau of Mines as a Chemist. He was a devoted father to his three children—James, Robert, and Faye. He enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, and watched sports. James is preceded in death by his son Robert Allen and is survived by his life Lody, son James (Maria), daughter Faye, grandchildren Jason, Caressa, Liz (Luke), three great-grandsons, brother Glenn (Joshe), and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 11:00. The family thanks CNS Hospice for their care.
