James Foster

James Hugh Foster, Jr. succumbed to his battle with dementia on October 4, 2018 at the age of 69. James was born on May 21, 1949 to James H. Foster, Sr., and Shirley Foster in St. Louis, Missouri.
James dedicated 20 years of his life to serving in law enforcement for South Salt Lake Police Department. He was a polygraph examiner and member of the Utah Polygraph Association. A highlight of his career was being interviewed on 60 Minutes by Ed Bradley. He ended his career working in the fraud prevention department at Key Bank.
James enjoyed the outdoors including fishing and hunting. You could always find him working on a home project or cheering for his favorite baseball team, the St. Louis Cardinals.
James is survived by the mother of his children, Judy Foster whom he was married to for 32 years; his brother Kenneth L. Foster; his three children; Mindy Gautreau (Jason), James C. Foster (Kris), Travis Foster (Katherine); his former daughter in law Monica Foster-Korus; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father James H. Foster, Sr., Shirley Foster, and Gary L. Foster.

A graveside memorial service will be held at Memorial Mountain View Cemetery located on 3115 E. 7800 S. Cottonwood Heights, on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association www.act.alz.org
