James Cameron

July 25, 1932 — December 27, 2014

James Wallace Cameron, age 82, passed away peacefully in his home on December 27, 2014 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born in Panguitch, Utah on July, 25, 1932 to Velta Steel and Karl Beaty Cameron. He married his sweetheart Naomi Goodsell on January 25, 1958 and later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
He graduated from Boulder High School in Boulder City, Nevada. He joined the Air Force and served 4 years during the Korean Conflict and was discharged honorably as an Airman First Class. He worked for Sperry/Unisys for many years until he retired. He volunteered for the Red Cross and was a member of the Utah Jaycees for several years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, woodworking and being with family, but especially loved traveling with his sweetheart Naomi.
He is survived by his children Karl (Lorraine) Cameron, Kathy (Steve) Peterson and Linda (Pedro) Mauri, grandchildren Jessica Young, Kurtis Cameron, Kimberly Dimond, Krista Cameron, Coralee Tucker, Kayla Tucker and Koda Cameron, and 6 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers Donald, and Douglas and grandson Brent.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the Riverside 1st Ward, 1100 West 500 North. A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday January 2 at the church as well as 1 hour prior to the services.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at Silverado Hospice for the loving care they gave Jim.
