Our devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away peacefully at home. He was born in Alhambra, California to James Harry and Jean Elizabeth Brunty. Jim moved to Utah in 1955. He married Phyllis LaRue Edwards, January 1957 in Provo, Utah. He was a leader in his faith as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for over 60 years. Jim had a great sense of humor, sharing his funny stories and jokes. He loved to make us all laugh. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Survived by his wife of 58 years; children, Vicki Winterscheidt of Georgetown, TX, Phillip of Round Mtn., NV, Lydia (Bob) Fetchin of Clinton, UT, Matthew of Austin, TX; brother, David (Judy) of Whitefish, MT; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
A memorial services will be held Saturday, December 6th, 1:00 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness, 6148 So. 4590 W. Kearns. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the James Brunty Memorial Fund at any Wells Fargo Bank location.
