James Cornell Brown, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 27, 2014. Born February 20, 1942 in Denver, Colorado to James and Lottie Walkenhorst Brown.
James was raised in Salt Lake City and upon graduating from Olympus High School in 1960 he joined the U.S. Coast Guard. He loved sharing music with his friends. He enjoyed spending time in the mountains and at Crescent Bay in California.
Survived by his children, Jodi (Michael) Ingleby, Jason Brown and Michael Brown; grandchildren, Julie (Michael) Morgan, Brian Ingleby, Alicia (Tyler) Naegle, John Barrett, Jessica Ingleby, Megan Ingleby, Austin Brown, Kelli Ingleby, Erin and Emily Brown and Jason Ingleby; great-grandson, Michael; siblings, Judie (Larry) Simpson, Jeanine (Ron) Schepers and Jeff (Lydia) Brown. Preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Michael J. Ingleby.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on March 3, 2014 at Redwood Memorial, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan with a viewing one hour prior. Online condolences may be sent to www.redwoodmortuary.com.
