James Warren Anderson was born March 8, 1930, in Salt Lake City, Utah to James and Elizabeth Mary (Service) Anderson and surrendered his will on Tuesday February 24, 2015 at his home in Woods Cross, Utah, due to complications associated with over 50 years of diabetes, such as amputation and many heart and eye surgeries.
He grew up in the Avenues and graduated in 1947 from East High School. He trained and worked in the pipe trades industry and in 1948 was the youngest journeyman pipe-fitter/welder in the country. He excelled at his trade and also taught welding at SLCC. He served in the army during the Korean conflict.
He married Bonnie Jean Ball Anderson on Nov. 14, 1952 and on Nov. 13, 1964 they were sealed together in the Salt Lake Temple. They enjoyed 62 years together and were blessed with 6 children.
Warren loved hunting, fishing, World War II Vets, his country, and his family. He had a strong testimony of the gospel and loved his Heavenly Father. He and his wife sent five of their six children on missions for the LDS church and served two full time missions themselves; England, Leeds Mission (1989-1990 ) and Washington D.C. Temple (1995-1996). They also served together as ordinance workers at the Bountiful Temple. Warren also served diligently in many other callings throughout his life.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie, and his children, Mera Lee (Tony) Roman, Mari Lynn (Bob) Cook, Michael W.(Lois) Anderson, Mar Gene Anderson, and Janet (Steve) Pirus, 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren with one on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister (Beverly Downing), a son, Mark J. Anderson, a daughter Mello Dee Anderson and a grandson, Chandler A. Roman.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, March 1, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, at the Woods Cross 1st Ward, 2064 South 800 West, Woods Cross, Utah. Funeral services are at the same location on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 11:00 AM with a viewing prior at 9:45-10:45 AM.
Interment will follow the services at the Lakeview Cemetery, Bountiful, Utah.
