James A. Cumberledge, age 87, passed away on June 20, 2017, in Holladay, Utah.
He was born October 27, 1929 to Forrest (Frosty) Cumberledge and Frances Gertrude Cunnington Cumberledge. Jim was the youngest of three siblings.
Jim served our Country in The US Army as a Sergeant from 1951 to 1953, and was stationed in Chicago, Illinois. He worked for many years as a forklift driver for Safeway. He was able to enjoy an early retirement and dedicated himself to his hobbies and care of his yard. He was a true artist in every sense of the word, and was adept in many forms of expression including sketching, oil painting, sculpting and writing; he was also a skilled pianist, an avid reader, a baker of heavenly goods, and a master of both history and family genealogy. Jim was a disciplined body builder earlier in life.
Jim was preceded in death by parents Forrest and Frances Cumberledge, brothers Robert W. Cumberledge and John (Jack) Cumberledge Sr., nephew John W Cumberledge Jr. and sister-in-law, Dana Cumberledge. He is survived by his brother Jack’s wife, Lois Benzon Cumberledge, nephew Terry Cumberledge (Barbara), and nieces Barbara (Paul) Blanchette, Kathy Cumberledge, Franni Cumberledge Judy Cumberledge; also several great nieces and nephews, and many beloved cousins, including Dixie Dixon, Bill (Diane) Morrison, Brian (Catherine) Morrison, Timothy (Karen) Morrison, Scott (Launa) Morrison, Marilee Beh (Gordon), Britt Morrison (Kay), Melissa Limoges (Sylvain) and Suzie (Kevin) Woodward.
Services will be held on June 26, 2017 at Saint Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 1375 E. Spring Lane, Salt Lake City, Utah. There will be a viewing preceding the services from 10-10:45 am. Mass 11-12 pm. Graveside service is at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Holladay Cemetery, 4900 South Memory Lane (1990 E), Holladay. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
