Jacqueline “Jackie” Flink

May 29, 1940 — May 28, 2014

“Bingo Lady”
Our beloved wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, neighbor, and friend passed away peacefully in her Murray home on May 28, 2014 after a brave battle with metastatic lung cancer. She was born on May 29, 1940 in Enfield, North Carolina to Beatrice Hunt. When Jackie was 12 she met her step father, Edmund Olberding. He became “Dad” and was such an important person in her life.
Jacqueline married Owen Ray “Dick” Knuteson early in life. After 22 years they divorced. It was then she found the “Love of her Life” Robert Jeffery Flink. They were married on October 5, 1985 and spent in total 34 fabulous years together.
Among her many accomplishments, she was a seamstress at Wahlen Brothers Furniture for 20 years. She continued to sew on the side for them in her home for many years after. She was amazing behind a sewing machine. She altered many wedding dresses and recovered cushions for many of her friends and family. Later in life Jackie worked for Frankie at Southgate Dinner and Bingo. She loved Bingo, her job, socializing and making new friends. In her spare time you could find her at home gardening in her yard. Her yard was her passion and she dedicated a lot of time to making it beautiful. Jackie also spent a lot of time taking care of not only her grandchildren, but others that will always be considered hers as well. She loved her family more than life itself and was always willing to help out wherever she could. She cherished her many friends, Wendover trips with the Perschons, and camping at the Sand Dunes.
Survived by her mother, Beatrice Olberding; her husband, Robert Flink; children: Elizabeth Martin (John Jefferies), Owen Ray (Kathy) Knuteson and Kelli (Matt) Pearson; 7 grandchildren: Brandi (Treaver) Nielsen, Tony Knuteson, Brokk Margetts, Ashley Stroud, Kaycee Knuteson, Makell Pearson and Cassandra Ferguson; 8 great-grandchildren: Daianara, Alex, Paris, Addyson, Bella, Olivia, Dallas and Jaydian; sisters Debra Olberding & Serene (Tim) Nehls; aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Edmund Olberding.
Special thanks to Jackie Perschon and Joleene for just being there whenever she needed you.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the Murray Liberty Ward, 67 West Clay Park Drive (6300 S.) with a viewing two hours prior. Interment to follow at Redwood Memorial Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT.
