Jacqueline Effie Drummond
On July 22, 1944 a Star was born. Courtesy of Effie and Jack Drummond Productions in Rock Springs, Wyoming. With a twinkle in her beautiful blue eyes, Salt Lake City became her stage. Growing up she loved her many adventures with her Mom, Dad and Sister, Carol. She learned to play the accordion, became an expert seamstress and appreciated what mattered most in life. She attended South High and later Salt Lake Community College. You may have known this Sassy, Smart, Creative and Quick-Witted beauty as Jacque, Jack, Sister, Mother, Mom, Mommie D, Mother Dearest, Jacque-Aunt, Granny Darling, JD, Partner, Wife, Friend or even Wackie-Jackie! More than one thing was certain- she left a lasting impression, was loyal and loved you fiercely. She would share everything and anything she had to include her huge heart. Jacque was creative and resourceful beyond belief. She always made sure her Daughters, Kellie Robertson, Heidi Nissen, Tiffany Stiefel, Megan Felter and Son, Joshua Moore never went without. They were always well taken care of, perfectly polished in hand-sewn matching Easter dresses, unique shorts and of course amazing Halloween costumes that were all the envy. A survivor and an optimist, this Mother raised her children to believe in themselves, have gratitude for the blessings in their lives, to never take good health for granted and created an unbreakable bond with her pack. Her proudest accomplishments, her life work was her children and they will carry on her legacy of love and joy. When the chips were down, Jacque would lift your spirits with a song, any song, just pick one! Everyone and we mean everyone was welcome and felt at home in her home. It was her castle, one that she was constantly transforming. M. Stewart had nothing on this Lady! There was something for everyone at Jacque’s place- air hockey, foosball, full size arcade games, how about those indoor/outdoor water fights? She would whip up something out of nothing that was good to eat, a song, a dance and of course a drink! If you were especially lucky you may have received one of her intricate hand embroidered art pieces, maybe on a hat she made, jacket or shirt. An avid collector of antiques and anything and everything else that she may have fancied from brass, music boxes, hats, purses, dolls, to small treasures like magnets. She simply was a lover of life and all things big and small. There wasn’t an animal or pet she didn’t fall in love with either to include D-O-G, other pups, cats, birds, ferrets, rabbits, goats, coyotes and even hermit crabs. She had a way of making everyone feel loved, like they had their own special place in her heart, and you did. Wherever Jacque was going, she was going in style! This beautiful Woman was a trend-setter, a Diva and a head turner that stood out in a crowd. Always dressed to the nines with her own style and class. Jacque was a dedicated and hard worker, fulfilling many roles along her journey. Her proudest accomplishments professionally was during her tenure at Fred A. Moreton and Co. The script in her life play was not always easy, many years of suffering and pain would be the only thing she would not share. Strong and independent is an understatement. She never wanted anyone to worry, refusing to be a burden to anyone no matter how hard you pleaded to let you take care of her; and somehow she continued to give something of herself to you whether it was a small gift or homemade jar of jam. Granny Darling was blessed with twelve Grandchildren and two Great-Grandchildren that she loved, adored, and was so very proud of each and every one of them. They too will carry her fun-loving spirit and legacy on.  The curtain on her lifetime on earth came to a close on May 17, 2016. She now shines even more brightly in the heavens with her Mom, Dad, Sister- Carol, Son Shayne, Daughter Clarissa, Grandson Chap and Aunt Doreen. We know they are all rejoicing and singing with her now. Time couldn’t be kept in a bottle and the box is empty, except for the memories of how they were answered by you. We are honored and forever grateful that you Jacqueline, are the one we spent time with.  Please join us at Memorial Redwood Mortuary 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah on Tuesday the 31st of May.
