Jackie Lyn Van Horn

Jackie Lyn Van Horn, beloved daughter of Ted and Verlaine Van Horn, passed away Friday, January 25, 2019,  at St. Mark’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah after suffering a massive stroke.  She was surrounded by loved ones who bid her farewell to the other side of the veil. Jackie, who liked to be known as Jacqueline, was born in Bellingham, Washington on  Friday, July 13, 1956 and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  She attended school in Orem, Utah and later served in the military in Germany. Jackie studied nursing and worked as a hospice caregiver in Carmel, California and at St. Lukes Hospital in Bellingham, Washington.
She loved her Maltese dog, Vivi, and they were often seen dressed alike. She and Vivi took road trips in her vintage style trailer where they relaxed in the peaceful greenery and beaches of the Pacific Northwest. She loved to decorate and surround herself with artwork; finding treasures to add to the beauty of her home. She loved to spend time with her grandchild, Olin and her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed all kinds of music.  Jackie was a  true Friday’s child who was loving and giving.  As an organ donor,  even in death she continues to give.
Jackie had many challenges in life and “was on a voyage toward truth, love and profound transformation.  She found courage amidst the storms and faith in her sails as she left the safety of the harbor for freedom, dreams and possibility.”  (Kelly Rae Roberts)
She is survived by her parents: Ted and Verlaine Van Horn; son, Jeff Robinson (Angel and son Olin); brothers: Jeffrey (Kathy), John (Tracy), Peter (Antoinette), Thomas, Matthew (Jana); sister, Karen Mordue (Steve), half siblings: Patty Bergman Parker (Carson), Lynne Bergman, Laura Bergman Baker (Jeff) and Paul Bergman (Liz) and many other loved ones
She is preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Bonnie Kay Robinson, brother Mark Van Horn and sister, Julie Van Horn Swensen, step son: Shawn Doyle and half siblings: Mark, Michelle and Monty Bergman.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the LDS Chapel at 5565 South Neighbor Lane, Holladay, Utah.
