Jack H. Hilton

Jack Hainsworth Hilton, 81, of Apache Junction, Arizona, passed away 25 August 2018, at the Friendship Village Hospice Hospital in Tempe, Arizona.
Jack was born December 26, 1936, in Salt Lake City, Utah to John Thorpe Hilton and Millicent Louise Hainsworth. He married Carol Rae Soderstrom on November 9, 1956, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple.
Jack served in the Army National Guard. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad as a carman for 39 years. Jack was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Jack had many hobbies. He was extremely creative and talented. He spent his retirement years in his lapidary shop; cutting, refining, and polishing precious stones; making beautiful sterling silver jewelry and knives. Jack enjoyed his mountain men outings in Cache Valley, Utah. He was given the name “many knives” and was an expert in black powder rifles. He was a member of the Old Ephraim Mountain Men.
Jack is survived by his wife of 62 years, his daughters Stephanie (Kevin) Hardman, Christine (Floyd) Evans, Sheri (Ray) Paulsen, Suzette (David) Easoz; sister Noreen Hilton Corbitt and brother Ted Hilton. He has 17 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren.
Jack was proceeded in death by his parents, brothers Keith Bradley Hilton and Colin Hilton, and two grandchildren Kasey Ann Paulsen and Logan Deloy Hardman.
The family will meet with friends at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 4, 2018. A grave side service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at the Memorial Redwood Cemetery. The family requests in lieu of flowers please donate to a Hospice Care Center.
