Jack Albert Pratt

October 15, 1926 — July 23, 2021

Jack Albert Pratt of Holladay, Utah passed away on July 23rd 2021 at the age of 94.
Jack was born in Toledo, Ohio on October 15, 1926.  He moved to Los Angeles, California prior to enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1944, the day before he became eligible for the World War II draft.  Jack served honorably as a Radarman on the destroyer USS Dyess (DD 880) and at Buckner Bay on Okinawa following the conclusion of the war.
Jack was a lifelong member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry.
Following the war Jack found his way to Huntington, Utah as a coal miner.  Deciding to stay in Utah he eventually began working as a Carman, inspecting and repairing rail cars, for the Rio Grande Railroad.  Jack eventually retired from Union Pacific Railroad in 1988.  Upon his retirement, Jack and his future wife, Beverly, purchased a vacation home in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho.
Jack enjoyed the community in Lava and their time there was filled with socializing amongst friends and family and making improvements on the property.
Jack is preceded in death by his mother, Jean Clements, and is survived by his wife, Beverly Bronson Pratt.  Jack Albert Pratt will be interred at the Camp Williams Veterans Cemetery.
