Ivan J. Winberg

Ivan passed away in Tooele, Utah on April 6, 2019 at the Beehive Home where he resided. He was born on September 2, 1938 to Ivan L. Winberg and Elinor Greenfield in Murray, Utah.
He was inducted into the US Armed Forces in June of 1958 where he proudly served in Korea for two years.
He married the love of his life Inez Smith in the Salt Lake City Temple of the LDS Church on April 14, 1972. With whom they had their only child, Jennifer, Inez always said it’s not the quantity but the quality.
Ivan loved working on his yard keeping it beautiful with all kinds of flowers and trees. He also found joy in raising different types of birds in his homemade coop out in the backyard. His neighbor was not thrilled about the peacock that was there for a time. He also enjoyed some beehives in this yard.
He retired from the Salt Lake County Public Works Dept. Where he enjoyed most aspects of his job, but never the middle of the night snow plowing.
Every day he missed his wife of 36 years and we are happy they are once again reunited. Mom and dad, you will be missed.
Ivan is survived by his daughter Jennifer (Alan) Nagata, three grandsons, and two sisters.
Preceded in death by his wife, parents, three sisters and his brother.
A viewing will be held Thursday April 11, 2019 from 7:00 – 9:00 PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT, 84123. Funeral services will be Friday April 12, 2019 at 11:00 AM with an hour prior viewing, all at the same location.
