Irene Kay Miller Hansen

Irene Kay Miller Hansen was born April 19, 1949 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Grant Miller and LaVerne Felton Miller. Died December 23, 2021 at home in Sandy, Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents Grant and LaVerne Miller and sister Mary Ann Watson. She is survived by her husband Jerry V Hansen, brothers and sisters Clark (Deanne) Miller, Ray Ellen (Mike) Smith, Louise (Ron) Cefalo, Warren (Karen) Miller. Children Jeremy (Cindy) Hansen, Paul Hansen, and 11 grandchildren.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved serving and had many callings in the Church. She always was a great support to her husband as he served in the Church and in his vocation. She was blessed to learn how to play the piano when she was 13 years old. She loved playing the piano and served many children by helping them learn how to play the piano. Her passion was knitting. She knit hundreds of Christmas stockings, dish cloths, afghans, baby sweaters, hats and scarfs for her family and friends.
She enjoyed traveling with her husband. Her greatest adventure was serving a mission in Indonesia. She loved all her nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 30, 2021 at the Sandy Central Stake center, 1050 East Galena Drive (9800 South), Sandy, Utah. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Sandy Central Stake center and Thursday morning from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
Interment will be held at Memorial Holladay Cemetery, 4900 South Memory Lane, Holladay, Utah.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the General Missionary Fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
