Irene Diane Hook

Irene Diane Michaelis Hook died peacefully on August 9th, 2024, at 88. She spent her life living in Salt Lake City, UT, attending East High School, after which she married and moved to Hunter and raised four children. 

Irene lived her life on her terms and never did anything conventional. When she entered the room, she became the life of the party. Mom was always up for an adventure. Irene loved traveling to all the national parks and boating at Flaming Gorge. When all four children played baseball or softball, she would figure out a way to show up for our games and always ensure we knew she was there. She loved being with her family, friends, and pets, who were a big part of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Ella Michaelis, and sister, Edith Killpack.

Surviving family members are her brother Lynn Michaelis, three sons, Steven Hook, Ryan Hook, and Russell Hook, and daughter Sharon Smith. She has thirteen grandchildren and eighteen and a half great-grandchildren.
