Inger Njord Drown, age 81 passed away on May 10, 2013. She was born May 15, 1931 in Jönköping Sverige (Sweden). She immigrated to the U.S. when she was 16 years old but retained her Swedish citizenship as was her mother’s wish. She married Jack Drown, her sweetheart for 57 years on May 5, 1951. They were later sealed in the LDS temple. She thoroughly enjoyed her work as a bookkeeper at Hiland Dairy, but she loved being a wife and mother more. When her children were young, Inger and Jack’s house was the neighborhood hangout because she always prepared treats. Even as she got older it was not often that a person would leave her home without a little something from her.
She is survived by three sons, Tom and Brenda Drown, Jack and Lorita Drown, and Steven and Donna Drown; her sisters, Mona, Christine, Lena and Helen and her brother Rolf and ten grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Jack, and her daughter Lisa Goodwill as well as her parents and her brother, Lars.
A short service will be held at Memorial Estates Mortuary, 3115 East 7800 South, Wednesday May 15 at 2:00 p.m. Friends and family may visit an hour and a half prior to services.
