Inez T. Simons

July 4, 1927 — February 1, 2017

Our beloved mother Inez T. Simons died peacefully at home surrounded by love and will be greatly missed by all. Inez was a mom, grandma, sister, aunt, friend and a great neighbor. Inez was born in Wanship, Utah on July 4, 1927 to Lloyd Shepard Thomson and June Irena Thomson. She was introduced to Charlie (Charles William Simons, Jr.) the love of her life by two of his sisters. They both fell in love after the first date and dated until he went off to war with the Navy. Inez took a job in Clearfield as a supply clerk while he was gone. When Charlie came home they picked up right where they left off and married three months later. Together they have four boys, Bill (Vicky) Simons, Randy (Irene) Simons, Dennis Simons and Brad Simons.
Charlie and their boys were the loves of her life. Inez loved camping, gardening, and planting flowers. She loved the earth and what it could produce. Her yard and flowers were always the most beautiful on the block. She was an amazing mom to her boys and all the children in the neighborhood. She had an open door for all who gladly came to her house after school for homemade cookies and milk.
Charlie passed away in 1985. Although lonely she spent her time with great friends’ traveling the world. She loved adventure and exploring new experiences.
Survivors include her four sons, four grandchildren Eddy (Stephani) Simons, Matt (Brittany) Simons, Valerie B White, Little Bill (Nicole) Simons. She has nine great-grandchildren Dlanie, Coltan, Logan, Cody, Kaden, Kali, Kamdyn, Lexi and Ben, brother Kay (Peggy) Thomson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Rex (Billie) Thomson and sister Rosalie T. Allred.
The Simons family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Encompass Home Health & Hospice. We are so full of gratitude that you were all in her life! Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Sunday February 5th at Redwood Memorial Mortuary and Cemetery. A celebration of life will follow at Epic Casual Dining on 707 E. Fort Union Blvd Sunday from 1-3 P.M.
