Ilene R. Wall

Ilene Read Wall passed peacefully on Nov. 28, 2019 at the age of 97 in her Sugar House home. Born February 16, 1922 in Hooper, UT to Mary Lavon Garner and Frank Hardy Read. She was the second of five children: Dorothy Irene Dixon (deceased), Don Frank Read (deceased), Kenneth Thomas Read (deceased), and survived by youngest brother, Blair Garner Read (Blanche).
Married John Owen Wall Oct. 24, 1941. He passed in 1985. Together they had three children Shannon Kay Shingleton (Douglas), John Owen Wall Jr., and Kevin Read Wall (Susan), 10 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 4 great-great granddaughters. Preceded in death by grandson Preston Tyler Shingleton.
Ilene devoted her life to loving and taking care of her family. She enjoyed working for Grand Central for 13 years, reading, crossword puzzles, Sudoku, knitting, crochet, and her dog Lucky; but most of all she enjoyed her family. She will be remembered for her unselfish ways, never wanting to spend money on herself, her sharp wit, keen mind and her remarkable agility and good health up until the last year of her life.

Services will be held Friday, Dec.6th at Memorial Mortuary 5850 S. 900 E., Murray, UT. Visitation 12:45 – 1:45 and Funeral Service at 2:00. Interment in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.Service Information
