Ian Garrett Myers, age 38, died on May 30, 2020, in La Jolla, California. He was born on June 13, 1981, in Ithaca, New York to Rebecca Jean Ward and William Frances Myers.
Ian enjoyed swimming, hiking, reading and learning. He was incredibly intelligent and always strove to better understand the world around him. He graduated with a degree in Computer Science with an emphasis in programming from Neumont University. He took 2nd place in Capstone Project with his calculator design. He had a deep love for his family, friends, and animals. He enjoyed spending time with children and volunteered at Colman Jr. High School tutoring students in math.
He had a passion for physics and spent numerous hours contemplating the workings of the Cosmos. He loved the planet and was very simple about the way he lived. He had many special qualities that are too numerous to count and was loved by many. We love you Ian and wish you were here.
He is survived by his grandmother, Joy; mother, Rebecca and her husband, Evan; his siblings: Bryan, Rachel, Evan, Joey, Josh, and Rylee; his father, Bill and his wife, Judith; his grandfather, Bill, Sr. and his wife Patti; his brothers: Seth, Liam, and Lukas.
Ian is preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Hustead and Dean Edward Lee.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 19, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Memorial Lake View Mortuary and Cemetery, 1640 East Lakeview Drive, Bountiful, Utah.
