Ian Edwin Mackenzie

July 22, 1941 — November 3, 2018

Our beloved husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother and friend to all, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018. He was 77 years old. Ian was born July 22, 1941, in Western Samoa, to Edwin and Emmy MacKenzie. He was the second oldest of six children.
Ian was happily married to his love, Edna Crichton MacKenzie, for 52 years. Together they had five children, Clemens, Terrance, Francis, Arlene and Liza. Ian grew up Catholic and was a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Ian and Edna moved their family from New Zealand to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1984, where Ian continued his career in Refrigeration Engineering.
Ian dearly loved all of his family; spending time with his great-grandkids always made him the happiest. Ian was very outgoing and loved talking to everyone he met about everything, especially his Royal Samoan heritage. His sense of humor and contagious laugh will be greatly missed by everyone.
Ian is survived by his beloved wife, Edna, five children, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two brothers, and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and a great-grandson.
Ian’s viewing will be held on Monday, November, 12, 2018, at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery, 6500 S Redwood Road, West Jordan, at 1 PM. Followed by a funeral service at 2 PM.
