Hope Nessen

Hope Florence Fairbanks Nessen was born 18 October 1933. She passed away 1 January 2018 at the Age of 84. Hope was preceded in Death by her Parents – Delamar R. Fairbanks and Elaine Beck Fairbanks,
Husband – Reed P. Nessen, and Children – Angela Faith Nessen Smith.
She is survived by: 3 Children, 10 Grandchildren, 2 Great grandchildren.  (Pamela) and Hiram Smith – Kameron Tonelli, Kristen Tonelli, Michel Smith, Charlie Smith, Charlotte Smith. (LaMar) and Cecilia Nessen. Scott and (Angela – deceased) Smith – Jessica, Ethan, Wesley and Megan Smith, – Great grandchildren – Killian, Jasper. (Steven) and Naomi Nessen – Ian, Ariel
Hope was born and raised in Salt Lake City/Sugarhouse.  She Graduated from South High School in 1951, (with the 65 year reunion in 2016). She Graduated from the University of Utah where she met and married Reed Nessen in the Salt Lake Temple on 15 September 1955. From there her family moved to Centerville UT., Ft. Mead Md., Brigham City UT., and Granger UT. (Now West Valley City), Cottonwood UT. , and back to Sugarhouse. After her husband Reed died she moved with her Daughter Pamela’s family to Missouri and finally to Snowflake Arizona, where she spent her final days surrounded by loving family.
We are grateful for her Loving, kind and generous spirit. She will always be remembered for the Kindnesses she has done for others. We will miss her and the stories she told, that just kept getting better. She was a faithful Member of the LDS Church and had a living testimony of the Savior and the Gospel.  We are saddened she has moved on.  We are also relieved that she no longer suffers from her infirmities and are joyful in the knowledge that we will be reunited through the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

Services will be held on Saturday 13 January 2018 at 2:00pm. Viewings will take place Friday 12 January 2018 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm and Saturday 13 January 2018 at 1:00pm. Services and Viewings will take place at Mountain View Mortuary and Cemetery located at 3115 East 7800 South Cottonwood Heights, UT 84121
