Hilary Kathleen Halliday
Hilary was born on December 28, 1976, the daughter of Richard G. Halliday and Christina Halliday Nilson. Hilary grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, and attended East High School and the University of Utah. At a young age Hilary began piano lessons and was gifted on the piano. She was invited to play the piano for many occasions and competitions. Once she reached East High School she excelled in music, sports and school life. She lettered in track her second month of her sophomore year and blazed the trail for young women at East, wearing a letterman’s jacket she could proudly say she earned herself. She was also a varsity cheerleader for two years. Hilary was an officer in A’Cappella and accompanied the choir on the piano.
Hilary received a music scholarship in piano performance at the University of Utah. Eventually her interests led her to the world of language and finance. She majored in Chinese language and spent a year at Shanghai University in China studying Mandarin. She came back and finished her Bachelor of Science Degree in Chinese language and business.
She was an incredibly smart, talented woman whose time on earth was much too short, however, she touched the lives of so many and was truly loved by all who knew her. Hilary was a free spirit and lived her own truth and will be missed by many.
Hilary is survived by her parents, Richard Halliday, Christina H. Nilson (Gayle), sister Anne H. Lentz (Jake), and her nephews Carter, Collin and niece, Jade. Hilary also had family she reconnected with in Odgen, Utah, who loved her and feel the loss in her passing.
Her loving nature, energetic personality and smile will stay in our hearts forever.
