Hershel Winkempleck

Hershel Lee Winkempleck passed away peacefully on March 3, 2014. He was born on September 25, 1936 in Pierce, Oklahoma to Harvey William Winkempleck and Katheryn Rose Huffstetler, both deceased. Hershel married Carol Ann Kant in 1958. They have two children, Yolanda Lynn Taylor and Brian (Beth) Winkempleck, and two grandsons, Jeffrey and Victor Taylor. He is survived by sisters Ruth Wilson and Leota Young, and brother Bud (Janet) Winkempleck, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Eugene (Barbara) Winkempleck, and sister Loretta Peden, and various cousins and nephews. Hershel loved to fish and camp with his family and friends. He loved his horses and making things from wood. The family would like to thank the caring staff at St. Mark’s Hospital, especially nurses Josh, Melanie, Misha, and Kathy. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Best Friends Animal Society or a charity of your choice. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 6 at 1:00 pm at Grace Baptist Church, 4737 West 4100 South in West Valley City. A viewing will be held at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road in West Jordan from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, March 5 and one hour prior to services on Thursday. Interment to follow at Valley View Memorial Park.
