Henrietta Judith Baker

August 30, 1948 — October 16, 2020

Henrietta “Hetty” Judith Baker passed away on October 16, 2020 in Murray, Utah. Hetty was born on August 30,1948 to Heinrich and Cornelia Bakker in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her family was from The Netherlands and had immigrated to the United States. Hetty was always proud of her Dutch roots. Hetty moved to Bellflower, California when she was very young and was raised in Southern California. She loved the beach and everything about California. When she was sixteen years old her family moved back to Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated from Hillcrest High School. After high school she went with her parents on their Latter Day Saint Mission to Scotland. Hetty loved the Scottish people and exploring the country.
Hetty married Daniel Beldon, and later divorced. She raised three boys, Michael, Eric, and Zachary. Michael and Eric always kept Hetty on her toes, and Zachary was her angel. Hetty worked for over 30 years with children with disabilities for Granite School District as a paraeducator. She truly loved the children that she taught.  The children she worked with became her family as well. Hetty was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was always so thankful for her ward family. Hetty loved her home in Murray, Utah. In the summer you would find Hetty on her front porch sitting in the sunshine. She enjoyed the holidays. Hetty always had decorations up for Halloween and Christmas.  Hetty’s greatest love was for her family; Her parents and brothers and sisters meant so much to her. Some of her greatest joys came from her children and her five grandchildren. She would do anything for them. She always had a smile on her face when talking about them. One of Hetty’s favorite pastimes was going on drives. Hetty never would take the freeways. She enjoyed the slower pace of driving on the side roads. She would often be found driving to Iceberg in Draper for a hamburger or driving through Murray Park.
Hetty is survived by her three sons: Michael Baker, Eric (Christy) Baker, and Zachary Beldon; Her grandchildren: Dallin Baker, Shelby Baker, Aubrie Baker, Savannah Baker and Bennett Baker; Her siblings: Frank (Jacklyn) Bakker , Ernest (Kathy) Bakker, Robert (Maxine) Bakker, Sybblla Hansen, Cony (Paul) Daubenschmidt. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Marie Van de Merwe.
The family wishes to thank the loving caregivers at Valeo Hospice and Life Care Center, especially her hospice nurse Debi. The care and support during Hetty’s time with you was a tender mercy.
