Hendry Martinez

October 1, 1943 — October 21, 2021

Hendry Martinez, age 78, passed away on October 21, 2021, in St. George, UT. He was born on October 1, 1943, in Salt Lake City, UT to Tony Leno Martinez and Hope Mary (Sanchez) Martinez. He married Frances Armijo on June 1st, 1974.
Hendry graduated from Trade Tech in 1973 as a Master Journeyman Tile Setter. He was an extremely hard worker and was able to master his craft which afforded him the ability to provide a comfortable life for his wife Frances and his children Joseph, Leann, and Michael.
Hendry thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his kids, grandkids, having quick chats over the phone with loved ones, watching old westerns, and taking care of his little wiener dog, Chiquito.
Hendry was a tough man but was equally caring and generous. He wasn’t afraid to tell you what he thought and at the same time was concerned if you were alright.
Though Hendry was a man a few words, he had his own special way of letting you know he was thinking of you and that he loved you. We all love you right back Hendry. You will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Be cool dad…we’ll see you in the fall when we’re all in heaven together again.
He is survived by (son) Joseph Martinez, (daughter) Leann Wilson, (son) Michael Valencia, (brother) Tony Martinez, (brother) David Corral, (brother) Andy Corral, and his grandchildren JP Martinez, Francisco Martinez, Grace Martinez, Alexander Valencia, Leinani Valencia, and Gabriel Valencia.
He is preceded in death by his father Tony Leno Martinez, mother Hope Mary (Sanchez) Corral, step-father Francisco Flores Doroteo Corral, and his wife Frances Martinez.
A funeral service will be held on Friday 10/29/21 at 10:00 AM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT 84123. A viewing will be held one hour prior on the same day at the same location. Interment will follow services at Memorial Redwood Cemetery.
