Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather, Hank Huyboom passed away peacefully at his home, with his wife by his side, on April 14, 2020, at the age of 87. He was born in the city of Haarlem, North Holland, Netherlands on November 22, 1932. He immigrated to the United States at the age of 19 in August 1952. He then served for 2 years in the US Army. He met his sweetheart, Wanda Strecker on a blind date in April 1956. They were married on March 7, 1957 in the Salt Lake Temple. They recently celebrated their 63rd Wedding Anniversary.
He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, when he was 16 years old. He loved the gospel and served faithfully in many capacities. He was a Stake Missionary, he loved to do Family History for his ancestors, and loved indexing for the church. He also served in the Jordan River Temple for 13 years with his wife. He graduated from BYU with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He loved to read and study the scriptures, listen to music, and watch movies. He loved to run and in his 60’s he entered races and won 3-1st place and 2-2nd place ribbons. He loved riding his bike and walking with his wife each morning for 4 miles. He loved drama, dancing, and enjoyed life. He loved his family and they loved him, especially his sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife Wanda and 5 children, Susan (Ray), Jeff, Mark (Melissa), Wayne (Jodi,) and Christoff (Lisa). He has 8 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2020, at the Memorial Mountain View Mortuary.
