Thursday, November 1st, 2018, we lost our beloved Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, Brother, Brother in law and Uncle, as well as my best friend and a great friend to so many, Hellmut Siegfried Andreas Bork. My Grandpa had such passion for life and enjoyed every second of it. He was known as a great fisherman and if you got him started talking about fishing, then you were in for some great stories.
My grandpa worked as a brick layer before immigrating to America, escaping East Germany in 1964, to prepare a home and place for my Grandma and his Children. His first job in America was also as a brick layer before being offered a job through Temple Square as a gardener. He worked his way up to head gardener and could name every flower, which we had opportunity to witness as we visited him to see his hard work, in which he took great pride, and it showed.
He was a proud member of the Church of Latter-Day Saints, serving in many callings. The calling he enjoyed the most, was as a patriarch, giving over 900 patriarchal blessings. He was such a gifted man in so many ways. He will be dearly missed, especially by his wife, Inge Elfriede Hildegard Bork, his daughters Sonja Bork and Monika Jones, his sister, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many, many friends.
He is preceded in death by his son Alfred Andreas Paul Bork, his parents, brothers and sister.
All Services will be at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints chapel, located at 6175 Borax Avenue, Kearns, Utah 84118, with viewing at 10 – 11 AM, and funeral services beginning at 11:15 AM. Interment will follow at Memorial Redwood Cemetery, 6500 S Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.
