Helen “Kelly” Daugherty

May 20, 1926 — March 27, 2015

Our beloved sister, aunt, and friend passed away on March 27, 2015. Helen was born May 20, 1926 to Anast and Effie Kokotas Chipian. Helen grew up in Bingham Canyon, Utah and graduated from Bingham High in 1944. The friendships of Bingham Canyon lasted a lifetime.
Helen (Aunt Kelly to her family) moved to San Francisco in 1959. Helen married Joe Daugherty in 1966. She loved San Francisco, was a Giants and 49ers fan and enjoyed when family and friends would visit. Helen had a love for traveling, visiting over 20 countries, sharing these trips with us through her multiple albums! She shared a special trip to Greece and Spain with her sisters after she retired from Rotary International. Helen was a lifelong supporter of the fine arts. She was a stylish dresser and a talented seamstress. Her thoughtfulness will be remembered by her many friends and family and especially by her closest “gal pals,” Connie Bille and Tessie Reyes.
Helen was a devoted member of the Greek Orthodox Faith. She received a lifetime service award from her home parish of Holy Trinity Church in San Francisco.
Preceded in death by husband, Joe, and her sisters Connie Forbus and Virginia Oneida
Survived by Brother, John (Angie) Chipian, Sisters, Katie (Deacon Peter) Alex, Mary Burton and, numerous nieces and nephews. Our family will miss Aunt Kelly and her wise advice.
