Helen Hedi Heap
December 12, 1939 ~ April 26, 2015
“An Unique Lady”
Our loving wife and mother, Helen (Hedi) Leary Heap passed away April 26, 2015 surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. Hedi was born on December 12, 1939 to Arthur and Elvie Leary. She was sealed to her sweetheart, Melvynn Gayle Heap Sr. on January 9, 1959 in the Salt Lake Temple. Hedi graduated from West High in 1958 and then from cosmetology school in 1960. Hedi was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and she faithfully served in many church callings.
Hedi enjoyed spending time with her family going on outings, camping and playing together. She dearly loved her family and had a special place in her heart for children, having watched over many children in her lifetime. We are so grateful to have had her in our lives. Rain seemed to follow all of her planned activities; it seems fitting that she returned to her Heavenly Father on a rainy day.
Survived by her husband, Gayle, and their four children: Mel (Lynette) Heap, Suzanne (David) Peterson, Sherylanne Horman, and Matthew (Sandee) Heap, 12 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Arthur (Bud) Leary, Jr.
A viewing will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, April 30, 2015 with a graveside service to follow at 11:00 am at Redwood
Memorial Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT.
The family would like to thank the Huntsman Cancer Institute for the tender care given to our wife and mother.
