Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Denice Yazzie left her family and friends all too soon on March 31, 2015 in Continental Divide, N.M. due to a tragic accident. Denice was born in Provo, Utah, August 2, 1948 to proud parents Viola Helen Harris and Roy Narient Dearing. She joined the US Army, married Hoskie “Wilson” Yazzie Jr. and after living in the Salt Lake area for a few years they moved to the Navajo Reservation near Gallup, N.M. Denice thoroughly enjoyed raising her four children there and later became a valued school bus driver and friend of the community. Many will remember her for her infectious smile and happy demeanor. Denice is survived by her devoted husband; four children, Shantle Ramirez, Shane Yazzie, Wilson Lee Yazzie and Sabrina Yazzie; 11 grandchildren; and three sisters, Jean Bird, Jo-an Eames and Joyce Hicks. Preceded in death by her parents and brother Lee Roy Dearing.
Funeral was held in Gallup N.M. April 11. A graveside service is planned for noon Saturday, April 18 at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 S Redwood Rd, W. Jordan Ut.Service Information
