Heidemarie "Heidi" Tillmann Fenstermaker

April 26, 1947 — April 17, 2024

Salt Lake City

Heidemarie “Heidi” Tillmann Fenstermaker
Our dear, sweet loving mother passed away peacefully in the morning hours on Wednesday, April 17th, 2024. She passed away from complications due to her lengthy battle with kidney disease. Heidi was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all those she knew.

Heidi was born in Hamburg, Germany on April 26, 1947, to Lisa & Fritz Tillmann. She moved to America when she was only 4 years old. Her family made their way to Utah where they found a home in South Salt Lake. Heidi had the luxury of being an only daughter with three brothers who were the only ones that had the right to tease her. They spent a lot of time at their family cabin in Beaver Springs and in Bear Lake camping with their friends and family. She was a graduate from Granite High School and attended the University of Utah studying German.

Heidi married Steve Fenstermaker on July 17th, 1970. They met on a blind date and have been each other's best friend ever since. As a couple they loved going camping, fishing, and golfing together. In their later years they loved being “snowbirds” and spending the winter in Yuma, AZ. Heidi and Steve brought three amazing children into this world. They taught us to love the outdoors with countless camping trips, fishing, and long car rides where we all sang our hearts out. Yes, we were that family. Heidi loved more than anything being with her seven beautiful grandchildren.

Our mom loved camping, fishing, bowling, golfing, knitting, crocheting, playing games with the grandkids (except when they cheat), playing bingo, teaching the kids how to play poker and gambling. She was an avid reader and loved doing puzzles. She treasured her time in the book club with neighborhood friends. She also enjoyed playing Bonco with the same group of friends for over 40 years, telling jokes and laughing all night.

As hard as it is to say goodbye for right now, we are excited for her joyful reunion with all the family and friends that have passed before her. Especially with her sweet father and mother and older brother.

Heidi is survived by her husband Steve, Children; Brooke (Jeff) Howard, Holly (Chris) Pearson, Andy (Nicole) Fenstermaker and her seven grandchildren Jackson, Carson, Owen, Luke, Piper, Rudy & Austin.

A special thanks to all the techs, nurses, and doctors at the dialysis center and to all her dialysis friends that made it easier to deal with.
