Heather Tran Hardy

July 21, 1980 — October 15, 2020

Heather Tran Hardy, our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, niece, aunt, cousin and friend passed away on October 15, 2020.
Heather was born on July 21, 1980 in a refugee camp in Manila, Philippines to Quang Tran and Huong Nguyen.  She and her family resettled in the United States later that year and made Salt Lake City their home. She attended Granger High School where she excelled in academics while being part of the cheerleading team.  In 2003 she graduated from the University of Utah with a finance degree. She married her high school sweetheart, Jason Hardy, on September 3rd, 2005 in Millcreek, Utah.  They are parents to two beautiful daughters, Kaitlyn and Ava.
Heather’s big heart and outgoing personality allowed her to make friends easily and put all those around her at ease.  She had a beautiful smile and her laughter was contagious. Her sense of humor (sometimes crude) always lit up the room.  She loved to entertain and always created a comfortable space for her friends and family with plenty of laughter, food, drinks, and the occasional gossip.  Heather was an amazing and devoted mother and went out of her way to make each and every day special for her daughters. She was extremely thoughtful, always watching out for her family and prioritizing their needs before hers.
She loved fashion, shopping, beauty, fitness, food, wine, traveling, the Utah Jazz, the Utes, Halloween, scary movies, and true crime shows.  Her favorite family vacation spots were Maui and Disney World.
She will be missed dearly by friends and families from around the world.  This world lost a beautiful soul. She will live on in our hearts and our memories forever.
Survived by her husband, daughters, parents, brothers, Son Tran and Zhiwei (Sheila) Tran, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Nghi Tho Tran and Ngoc Quyen Chung and maternal grandparents Nguyen Van Ba and Nguyen Thi Dung.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. followed by a service scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Memorial Redwood Mortuary located at 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.
