Hazel Oefinger

August 19, 1939 — January 30, 2014

Our beloved mother, grandma, great grandma, auntie, and sister Hazel has passed into the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ.
She was born in Midland, Alabama on August 19, 1939 and left us on January 30, 2014 at home in Duchesne, Utah.
She is survived by her children Patti (Garrett, Oefinger) Larsen, Charlene (Oefinger) Haymes, her son William (Billy) George Oefinger, 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, her brothers Frederick Earl and Rex Clayton Garrett.
She is preceded in death by her parents Charlie Samson Garrett, mother Marian R’Ola Chase, her husband William (Bill) George Oefinger and daughter Alisa (Tholl) Ryan. Also preceded by her brothers Monroe Bradford, Charlie Oliver, and Kenneth Ray Garrett; and her sisters Mamie Irmagene Harrison, Mary Emma Clark, and Marian Fay Garnes.
Hazel loved living in Duchesne where she had many friends and family. She enjoyed spending time with her best friend Betty and going to play Bingo and visiting at the Senior Center.
She also loved the state of Alabama where she was born. She went back there to live a couple of times in her life. She loved the Crimson Tide Football team of the University of Alabama. Roll Tide Roll… But Utah was where her kids and family were. So that is where she loved to live. Hazel was loved by all who knew her…
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at the Duchesne Stake Center, 901 North 500 East in Duchesne, Utah, and at 12:00 noon on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Gateway Senior Center, 734 North Center Street in Duchesne, Utah.
