Hazel Pauline McCarty Heath passed away peacefully November 30, 2013.
She was born October 12, 1918 to Pat and Neva (Eby) McCarty in Monmouth, Iowa. She attended the Emeline School. As a young woman she helped her parents run the family farm. On November 15, 1937 she married Frank Irvin Heath in Kahoka, Missouri where they also spent their honeymoon.
She and Frank took over the family farm and farmed for 25 years. They then moved to the town of Monmouth, IA where she became involved in church work. She was a Sunday School teacher and treasurer of the church for a number of years. She also worked as a volunteer at the Monmouth Baldwin Involvement Services for 7 years. She and her husband moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1994. Her hobbies were quilt-making and different kinds of craft work. She also liked to travel.
She is survived by sons, Duane (Judy) and Larry; 4 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband of 66 years; parents and her brother, Paul, and his wife, Pauline.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, December 4th, 2:00 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Cemetery, 6500 So. Redwood Rd. with a viewing one hour prior to services.
