It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Hawley Lynn Burgess also known to his family and friends as Lynn. He passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at the age of 79 after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia.
Lynn was born in Castle Dale, UT to Hawley and Blanche Burgess on April 26, 1941. After graduating from Murray High School, he married his high school sweetheart, Shirley Densely and had 3 daughters, Debbie, Brenda, and Shauna.
Lynn had a successful career with Union Pacific Railroad as a Conductor and retired after 43 years.
Besides spending time with his family, Lynn loved the outdoors and there was not a weekend you would not find him enjoying nature whether it be fishing, hunting, golfing, boating, or camping.
Lynn is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Shirley; one daughter, Shauna (Blake) Adams; 4 Grandchildren; 11 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great-Great Granddaughter; brothers, Randy, Terry, and Roy (Linda) as well as many extended family members and friends. He is proceeded in death by his two daughters, Debbie, and Brenda as well as his parents, Hawley, and Blanche Burgess.
Special thank you to Rocky Mountain Healthcare for the amazing care you provided Lynn over the last year. The family would also like to thank The Wentworth as well as Salt Lake Regional Medical Center for taking great care of Lynn during his short time with you.
Services are scheduled for Monday, April 5, 2021. A viewing will be held from 10:00-11:30 am and services starting at 11:30 am followed by graveside services at noon at Memorial Mountain View in Cottonwood Heights, UT.Service Information
