Hatsue Masuda

Services PendingHatsue Masuda , 95 , of Salt Lake City , Utah passed away September 16, 2013 at Garden Terrace in Salt Lake City , Utah . She was born on January 6, 1918 in Alameda , California to Hatsuzo and Isono Kuge. She married Tatsuro Masuda on January 25, 1942.
She was a generous caring mother. She always worried about our problems and needs. She always offered to help us financially even though she lived on a small fixed income. She was a very strong willed independent person. After her husband died, she lived alone in her house to the age of 95. Mom was a meticulous gardener. No weed had a chance to survive in her garden. She enjoyed watching the Utah Jazz games on tv. Her greatest joy in life was going to Wendover to play the slot machines.
Hatsue is survived by her son Walter (Xan) Masuda, daughter Laverne (Michael) Zaloba, and sister Sue Hayame, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Tatsuro Masuda, parents Hatsuzo and Isono Kuge; brothers Arthur and George, and sister Sumi.
A Viewing will be held from 6-8 on Friday, September 20 at Murray Memorial Mortuary 5850 S 900 E, Murray, Utah. Private family services will take place at a later time. Friends may leave condolences by going to www.MurrayMemorial.com
