Harry Lee Landvatter passed away January 31, 2018 from causes incident to age. He was born July 13, 1931 to William Karl and Toni Elisabeth Landvatter in Tremonton, Utah.  He married Pauline Whitaker on May 8, 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple. He was an active member of the LDS Faith.  He served in the High Priest Group Leadership, in 3 Bishoprics and as a temple worker in the St. George Temple.  He is survived by his wife, Pauline Landvatter, his two sisters, Erna (Don) Johnson, Karma (Raleigh) Riggs,  three children, Viki Lee Bradshaw (Victor), Brent David Landvatter (Huguette), and Vincent  Mark Landvatter (Nancy). He has 18 grandchildren, 56 great-grand children and 1 great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by  two brothers, a sister, 1 grandchild and two great grandchildren.  Music was a very important part of his life. His first experience with singing came in his High School A’Capella Choir. Then he sang in the Alumni Choir, The Swanee Singers Men’s Choir and a Barbershop Quartet called the Jolandicks.  He met Edna Evans Johnson who tutored him and helped him improve his deep solo voice.  She also taught him to sing opera. He sang in “Amal and The Night Visitors”, and had many other opportunities to sing solos and to sing in choirs. He later joined the Jay Welch Choral and then the American West Symphony and Chorus, directed by Terrell Lameraux. The chorus went on tour to Scandinavia and sang in many beautiful churches and symphony halls.   They moved to St. George in 1993 where he sang in the Heritage Choir, The Southwest Choral and a barbershop quartet. His favorite song to sing was, “Old Man River”. His other interests included camping, hiking and boating with his family and hunting and biking with friends.  He worked 7 years for Sperry Rand, who made the Sargent Missile and other electronic control weapons. He then went on to be the Building Engineer for the Beneficial Life Building in Salt Lake City, where after 33 years, he retired. Dad and mom were married 67 years.  He loved her very much and they spent almost every minute with each other these last few years. Dad loved his posterity and told them so every time he was with them and how grateful he was for them.  The little ones were especially drawn to him.  We will miss him but are grateful he is free from the pains of this life and reunited with loved ones on the other side of the veil.  A viewing will be held Monday, February 5th at the Hillcrest 5th Ward Chapel,  915 Peach Blossom Drive from 10:00 A.M. – 10:45 after which the funeral will commence at 11:00 A.M.  Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 E. 10600 S.
