Harry Elmer Kiefert Sr

Harry Elmer Kiefert Sr. died on Monday, October 7, 2019 in Salt Lake City. He was born on April 16, 1931 in San Antonio Converse, Texas. He married Kim Kiefert in October 1965.
Harry loved to collect coins, trucks, watching war movies, and loved to teach his grandchildren history. He loved dog walking and sharing stories of his life.
Harry was drafted to serve our country in the Armed Forces of the United States of America in 1951, where he achieved a ranking of E-6 Staff Sergeant at Fort Knox, Kentucky in June 12, 1970. He also completed his training in the Air Force on February 1958. Harry also received a certificate of proficiency for his tracked vehicle mechanic course held at the U.S. Army artillery and missile school from January 17 to March 4 in 1966 as Sgt Harry E. Kiefert. Harry received a certificate of appreciation for his service in the armed forces of the United States signed by president Richard Nixon in 1973.
We will love and miss Harry Elmer Kiefert always and forever.
He is survived by his wife Kim Kiefert, children; Jody Harry Kiefert, Harry Elmer Kiefert Jr., Angel Kiefert, and William Kiefert, and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father Herman Carl Kiefert and his mother Nellie Genovie (Oakley) Kiefert.
Services for Harry will be held on Wednesday, October 16 at 11:00 a.m. at the Memorial Mountain View Mortuary located at 3115 E 7800 S, Cottonwood Heights. A viewing will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the same location. Interment to follow at Memorial Mountain View Cemetery.
