Harold Wayne Nielsen

January 7, 1932 — May 8, 2019

Harold Wayne Nielsen age 87, returned home to his heavenly father and loved ones on May 8, 2019.
He was born on January 7, 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Christian Einar and Agnes Theodora Nielsen.
He graduated from West High School where he met and married the love of his life, Lois Jean Burbank on February 1, 1951.
He joined the United States Navy in April 1951and served for four years during the Korean War aboard a destroyer as a signalman in which he was always so proud of.
He worked at Christensen Diamond Products as well as Anagraphica Printing. He loved to dance and taught ballroom dancing for many years.
He also loved to draw and oil paint.
He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served several positions in the Rose Park 5th ward. They also served an inner state mission together. Harold and Lois also worked as temple workers for eleven years in the Salt Lake temple.
He loved his family and many grandchildren and great grandchildren and very much enjoyed when the whole family got together.
He is survived by Lois B. Nielsen(spouse), Debra Jean Jacobsen (Stephen Jacobsen ), Einar Wayne Nielsen (Robin Nielsen), Vicki Lee Nielsen, Lori Deanne Brown (Kerry Brown), Lisa Dawn Duncan (Shawn Duncan), Derrick Jay Nielsen (Elaine Nielsen), Melanie Kaye Wight (Kim Wight), 24 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 4 great- great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by Christian Einar Nielsen (Father), Agnes Theodora Nielsen (Mother), Vera Stevens (sister), Mildred Neilson (sister), Ray Nielsen (brother), and Joshua Michael Wight (grandson).
The family would like to thank and greatly appreciate all the lntermountain Hospice staff and RN Dennis Keyes for the amazing care and support that they gave to Harold and Lois, as well as the family the past several months. You are all so amazing!
Friends and family can attend a viewing on Monday, May 13, 2019 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at the Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 with a viewing from 9:30am – 10:30am and services beginning at 11:00am at Memorial Redwood Mortuary.
Interment will be at Memorial Redwood Cemetery.
