Harold A. Eyre, 93, passed away on February 15, 2025, in South Jordan, Utah. He was born on July 6, 1931, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Rear Alonzo and Mabel Perennial (Maddox) Eyre. He married Elaine Gull in the Salt Lake Temple on March 16, 1955. He had five children: Douglas, deceased (Connie), Shauna (Ronny), Denise (Bill), Christine (Mark), and Marci (Steve), 17 grandchildren: Nicole, Derek, Rikki (Joe), Rachel (Matt), Zack (Scarlette), Kali (Chris),Billy (Shelbi), Aaron (Sarah), Bree (Mike), Dani (Jose), Patrick (Sara), Marshall, Dean, Taylor, Cole, Carter, Kye, 24 great-grandchildren: Ellie, Max, Isla, Greyson, Ledger, Maddox, Cash, Ryak, Riah, Sazi, Nellie (Owen), Connor, Cora, Libbie, Jack, Hazel, Lucy, Sammy, Cadence, Haddie, Charlotte, Quintin, Titan, Jakob and 1 great-great grandchild Huxlee.

His desire in life was to provide for his family, to teach them all how to safely ride and drive a 4-wheeler and to help others. He was always a do-it-yourself-er, keeping things in repair, starting and completing projects and maintaining the 2 houses that he built. He was a hard worker, working for 35 years at Kennecott Copper, 10 years for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and many years at the little Dutch Boy Bakery. He was always wanting to help people and even served a few years in the Utah National Guard. All his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew he loved them, and they were all “his favorite”

Our Papa Buffalo,

Loved to camp and would know everyone in the campground within the first 10 minutes. He was an amazing gardener and grew the best peaches, corn, raspberries and various other vegetables that we would eat and can together. He taught me how to parallel park with finesse and taught me how to put people before ego, and how to drive a stick shift. Working with dad building wooden cookie boxes, it was a wonderful teaching moment and gave me the love of building projects with my family. He wanted all of us to be self-sufficient. He was a father figure and checked every box and more when it came to someone to look up to and respect. I’ll never forget his unconditional love and will think of him every time I eat ketchup and eggs like he used to. He was our sunshine, the rainbow after the storm.

We would like to extend a special thanks to our family, neighbors, friends, home health hospice and the medical teams that helped us through this time. They have brought knowledge, comfort, love encouragement and compassionate help. in lieu of a formal service, the family has chosen to honor Harold in a private manner. The family appreciates your thoughts and condolences during this difficult time.
