Harold E. Doramus

August 12, 1940 — August 25, 2016

Harold E. Doramus was born August 12, 1940 in Twin Falls, Idaho. He was adopted by loving parents Carl and Faye Doramus. Raised on a farm he learned what hard work meant, transferring these values into his life. At 17, Harold joined the U.S. Navy where he was stationed in Hawaii for four years. After serving his country he returned to the farm before moving to California. He joined Operating Engineers as his lifetime profession retiring after 35+ years. As a young man Harold loved racing Corvettes, winning many trophies. He also loved restoring vehicles, and was a great auto detailer and painter. At times he worked three jobs just to keep his hobby going. Cars were his world. Harold enjoyed his retirement by driving 18 wheelers for various companies and traveling the country in his RV.
Harold is survived by his loving wife Carol Lee and his four children Jason Doramus, Debra Osborne, Malynda Cloward and Laurie Davis; two sisters, Jeri (Howard) Hanson and Carol Ann Douglas, and brother John (Trudy) Doramus; eight grandchildren and their spouses, 23 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and his precious dog Sammy. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Anita Hust and his faithful dog Gabby.
Harold lost his battle with cancer on August 25, 2016. Harold is now running in the meadow with Gabby and racing cars.
