Hal Alfred Ford

April 4, 1932 — June 5, 2021

Hal Alfred Ford peacefully passed away from cancer on Saturday June 5, 2021 at the age of 89. He was born on April 4, 1932 to Melburn and Jane Ford in Provo Utah as the youngest of 11 children. He served in the Air Force during the Korean war, stationed in Texas, Alaska, Japan, and Arizona. He married Sharon Patton on March 16th, 1956 and worked most of his career at Hercules, starting as a test technician and ending as a rocket motor test instrumentation engineer.
Hal was passionate about golf. He loved golfing with his grandkids, and particularly enjoyed trouncing his golf buddies anywhere and anytime he could, winning the few dollars they bet on their games. He shot 6 holes-in-one during his life. Hal also loved building and tinkering in his workshop. He built many beautiful wood pieces, and was always game to help on whatever project his kids and grandkids came up with.
He saw a good portion of the world during his travels. Some of his favorite trips included cruises through the New Zealand islands and the fiords, the Panama Canal, multiple times to the Caribbean, several trips to Hawaii, a trip to the Great Wall of China, Machu Picchu Peru, and a Danube River cruise through Hungary, Austria, and Germany.
He was a wonderful, caring, and non-judgmental man that was loved by all who knew him. He left a lasting legacy to all his posterity of how to live a fulfilling life consisting of hard work, determination, frugality, following a passion, traveling, and total devotion to wife and family. He will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 10 siblings. He is survived by his wife Sharon Patton Ford, three children Kevin (Kerry) Ford, Marianne (Jeffrey) Lee, Cameron (Kimberly) Ford, 10 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
