Gwena Webb Kitto peacefully passed away at the age of 89 at home surrounded by her family, worshiping, and singing Amazing Grace. The Lord Jesus Christ so mercifully received her worship, gave her wings to fly, and held her in his arms.
Gwena was Born on September 22, 1929 in Centerfield, Utah to James Lawrence Nielson & Mary Lawreatha Nay Nielson. On September 16, 1949 she married her long-time love Darrell Wilford Webb In West Jordan, Utah. In 1954 the young couple built a home on Redwood Road in West Jordan. Together, Gwena and Darrell raised a handful of children…five to be exact!!. Darrell preceded his wife in death on July 22, 1973 in Delta, Utah
Gwena married Thomas James Kitto. They purchased a semi-tractor/trailer and started K&W Trucking. To give God the glory for their business, praying hands and “Trucking with Jesus” were meticulously painted on the truck, which they operated for 5 years. Jim preceded his “truckin’ partner” in death on August 27, 1984 in West Jordan Utah.
Gwena is Survived by her children, Darrelyn Rodman, David (Terri) Webb, Glen (Linda) Webb, Douglas (Maureen) Webb. Subsequently came grandkids, great-grandkids, and even some great-great-grandkids, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving Gwena are her sisters, Madge DeForrest, Janice Dean, and Charla Emery Neabeack. All of these she loved and touched deeply. Gwena enjoyed playing board and card games with anyone and everyone. Grandma was a competitor and not many can boast winning!
Gwena was heartbroken at the death of her second son Donald Wilford Webb on March 14, 1999 in West Jordan, Utah.
Precious sisters, Vonda Brown, Leila Mauchley, Fawn-Nell Burrows and Shanna Fennema also preceded her in death.
Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing for Gwena, on Friday, June 7, 2019 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Memorial Estates 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah
Funeral Services will be from 1:30 – 3:00 PM on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Landmark Apostolic, 3950 S Redwood Road, West Valley City, Utah.
A two-hour viewing will precede the funeral from 11:30 – 1:30 PM; Following the funeral, a graveside service will be at Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.
Gwena’s family would like to thank Symbii Hospice, Tia Lalor, Nurse, Amanda Maestro-Scherer, Music Therapist and Elysha Woodland, CNA for their kindness, love, extreme empathy, and care before and during her time of passing. We will always remember and hold dear Rhonda and her remarkable Meals on Wheels team.
