Gustavo Galindo Palacios

November 18, 1931 — August 25, 2016

Gustavo Galindo Palacios was born in Sonora, Mexico on November 18, 1931 to Isaac and Guadalupe Palacios. Gustavo passed away on August 25, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. He married the love of his life, Raquel Palacios, on October 2, 1953 and together they had four beautiful children. Gustavo is survived by his two older sisters, Ofelia Juarez and Esther Fernandez, younger brother, Benjamin Palacios, wife, Raquel Palacios, three children, Gustavo T. Palacios, Marco Antonio Palacios, and Marisa Carilu Palacios Roller, thirty-one grandchildren, and thirty-five great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Guadalupe Palacios, and his oldest daughter, Haydee Gracia Palacios Hanchett. Gustavo enjoyed working with his hands, fixing and making things around the house, inviting friends and family over for dinner, Mexican music, singing, playing basketball and baseball, and spending time with his family. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 29, 2016 at 11 AM at Western Hills 8th Ward at 5600 West 5107 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84118. Viewings will be held Sunday, August 28, 2016 at 6-8 PM at the church and from 9:30-10:30 AM on Monday prior to funeral services. Following services, interment will be at Memorial Redwood Cemetery at 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT 84123.
